About Community Action Organization

Community Action Organization (CAO) is the largest private, non-profit social service agency serving low-income residents in Washington County. Between July 1, 2004 and June 30, 2005, Community Action responded to 35,000 requests from 17,000 families. In our county, more than 655 children need preschool whose parents could not otherwise afford to pay for it. In most of the families we serve, at least one parent is employed full-time.
