About Coalition For The Homeless, Inc.

Coalition for the Homeless is dedicated to the principle that decent shelter, sufficient food, affordable housing, and the chance to work for a living wage are fundamental rights in a civilized society. The Coalition operates a mobile feeding program that serves nutritious meals to nearly 800 homeless people each night, delivers blankets and clothing to people on the streets, and engages them in services. The agency also provides rental assistance and permanent housing for formerly homeless men, women, and families with children as well as adults and families living with AIDS. In addition, the Coalition operates a summer sleep-away camp offering respite from the city for over 300 homeless children; year-round after school programming for children living in homeless shelters; a job training program for homeless women; a walk-in crisis intervention service; an eviction prevention program; and a program that helps disabled homeless people secure disability benefits and housing.
