The Abbeville Christian Service Center helps the needy when funds are available with utility bills (eviction notice or disconnect notice required), rent (past due notification required), no rental and utility deposits; a Christmas program called Children's Treasures (1-9yrs), Toys for Tots, transportation for doctor/dental visits through Council on Aging (if qualified), doctor or dentist visits (dental extractions), medication (no pain meds or controlled substances) (no medical assistance given to clients with Medicaid), food, thrift store (clothes, furniture etc.) and a "Free Room" where items are free of charge when qualified (good for 6 months). CSC is a distribution site for Food for Families from the Diocese of New Orleans. Accepts donations of toys. They also have a food pantry for residents in need and a soup kitchen.
