Housing Choice vouchers assist low-income families secure decent, safe and sanitary housing at affordable cost. Participants pay approximately 30% (not to exceed 40%) of their adjusted gross income toward rent, including utilities. Lafayette Housing Authority will inspect the unit. Apply at the Lafayette Housing Authority office. Criteria to apply (preferences): lives in; works in; or attends school full-time in Tippecanoe County, or displaced due to government action; natural disasters, declared disasters. Documentation required.Requires birth certificate or passport and Social Security Card. INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) green card in place of birth certificate, if applicable. Only original INS documents are accepted.
