Community action agency for the Lower Naugatuck Valley, Bethany, Milford, Orange, and Woodbridge provides community based services for people who are economically disadvantaged to promote self sufficiency and economic independence. TEAM services include employment programs for adults and youth, elderly services, heating assistance, information and referral, child care, child care food programs, and Head Start. Special programs include the Eviction Prevention Program and Valley Toys for Tots. Through the Elder Care Program, the agency provides congregate and home delivered meals, in-home and chore assistance, postal alert, and transportation services for older adults.Elegibility:Resident of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Milford, Orange, Oxford, Seymour, Shelton, and Woodbridge experiencing a non-recurring, unexpected, documentable hardship; In danger of eviction or foreclosure; Income must be at or below 60% of the state median income; Monthly rent/mortgage cannot exceed 60% of gross monthly income; Must be able to document a severe hardship which is not chronic or recurring; Landlord must be willing to cooperate with mediation decision; Other restrictions may apply. HPRP provides funding to assist families and individuals who are at imminent risk of homelessness. Must be "imminently at risk of becoming literally homeless within the next 6-15 days":*Being evicted within 6-15 days from private dwelling (own Hours of operation:M-F: 8:30am-4:30pm Cannot apply more than once in any 18 month period
