The Shoemaker Foundation was established to provide financial assistance to horsemen associated in the racing industry on nationwide basis. The foundation s objective is to respond in cases of illness or injury where all insurance benefits and other sources of aid are insufficient. Funds from the foundation have been given for: assistance with medical and hospital expenses, conversion of vehicles, emergency aid to meet mortgage and rent commitments, home modifications for handicap access.
